The company was established by Major Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson, who brought the world its first comic book, “New Fun: The Big Comic Magazine #1,” in 1935. Liebowitz as owners, and the company quickly rose to fame with its revolutionary title, “Action Comics,” featuring the legendary superhero Superman.
