Antarctic Press is a San Antonio-based comic book publishing company founded in 1984 by Ben Dunn and Marc Ripley. The company’s mission is to “publish the coolest creator-owned comics on Earth.” Initially, Antarctic Press focused on publishing original English-language manga, with the anthology Mangazine being one of its first titles.

Over the years, Antarctic Press has expanded its scope to include various genres such as Amerimanga, Furry, Funny Animals, Horror, Science Fiction, Steampunk, and Political Parodies. The company has published over 850 titles, with a total circulation of over 5 million.

Antarctic Press is known for its creator-owned titles, including Ben Dunn’s Ninja High School and Warrior Nun Areala, as well as Fred Perry’s Gold Digger. The company has also ventured into distribution, taking on the comics of Guardian Knight Comics, a San Antonio-based small-press publisher.
