Mirage is the fifteenth Magic: The Gathering set and the first in the Mirage block, released on October 8, 1996. Set on the African-inspired continent of Jamuura on Dominaria, it follows three nations—Zhalfir, Femeref, and Suq'Ata—as they battle the evil wizard Kaervek and attempt to free the planeswalker Mangara. The 350-card set (110 commons, 110 uncommons, 110 rares, 20 basic lands) introduced key mechanics like flanking and phasing, and was the first to be designed with both Limited and Constructed play in mind, marking the start of Magic’s "Silver Age."
