Graded Pokémon cards are collectible cards professionally evaluated for condition by third-party services like PSA, CGC, Tag or BGS, using a scale from 1 (Poor) to 10 (Gem Mint), with half-point increments. The card is sealed in a tamper-proof "slab" with a label certifying its grade, which helps verify authenticity and protect the card. Grading is most common for rare or valuable cards, as a high grade can significantly increase market value, especially for vintage or chase cards, though it comes with costs and no guarantee of profit.
