Pitch Black (ME05) is the fifth main expansion of the Mega Evolution series in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, released worldwide on July 17, 2026, and based on the Mega Dimension DLC of Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The 120-card set (84 base + 36 secret rares) is headlined by Mega Darkrai ex as the set mascot, alongside Mega Zeraora ex, Mega Chandelure ex, Mega Excadrill ex, Mega Delphox ex, and Mega Slowbro ex—all making their first-ever English TCG debut. The expansion features a dark, atmospheric theme where twinkling city lights and starry skies fade into shadow, with more than 35 special illustration cards including 11 Illustration Rares, 6 Special Illustration Rares, 18 Ultra Rares, and a single Hyper Rare gold Mega Darkrai ex as the rarest pull in the set. It serves as the English counterpart to Japan's Abyss Eye expansion (released May 22, 2026) and is available in booster packs, 36-pack booster boxes, Elite Trainer Boxes, and various bundles at participating retailers.
