XY Series

The XY Series, also known as the XY Era in Japan, marks a significant milestone in the Pokémon Trading Card Game (PTCG). This series introduces the revolutionary Mega Evolution mechanic, which allows Pokémon-EX to evolve into even more powerful forms. The XY Series features over 140 cards, including:

  • Mega Evolution Pokémon-EX: These cards showcase the powerful, evolved forms of Pokémon-EX, which were first introduced in the Pokémon X and Y video games. Unlike in the core series games, Mega Evolution Pokémon-EX do not require a Mega Stone to evolve.
  • Generation VI Pokémon: The XY Series is the first to feature Pokémon from Generation VI, including the Legendary Pokémon Xerneas and Yveltal.
  • New Rarity Symbol: In the Japanese expansions, Collection X and Collection Y, Pokémon-EX and M Pokémon-EX were given a new rarity symbol, RR.
