Alvin and the Chipmunks is a rhythm video game for the Nintendo Wii, released in 2007. The game follows the adventures of Alvin, Simon, and Theodore as they perform at various venues, from small gigs like high school proms to larger events such as Burning Munk and Rockathonapalooza. Players control the Chipmunks through a series of musical levels, where they must match the rhythm of the music by swinging the Wii Remote and Nunchuck to hit notes that appear on the screen. The game features 40 songs from a diverse range of artists, including “All the Small Things” by Blink-182, “It’s Tricky” by Run-D.M.C., and “Heartbreak Hotel” by Elvis Presley.

The gameplay mechanics of Alvin and the Chipmunks are similar to other rhythm games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Players can choose from four main modes: story mode, quick play, two-player mode, and video mode. In story mode, players follow the Chipmunks’ journey to Rockathonapalooza, unlocking new stages and bonus songs as they progress. Quick play allows players to select and play any song from the game’s soundtrack, while the two-player mode enables cooperative gameplay. Video mode lets players watch cutscenes from the game, featuring voice acting by Jason Lee as David Seville, Ross Bagdasarian Jr., and Janice Karman reprising their roles from the animated series.
