Armored Mewtwo (SM228) is a Cosmos Holo promo card from the Sun & Moon series, released as part of the SM Black Star Promos on November 22, 2019. This Psychic-type Basic Pokémon card features a unique design based on Mewtwo’s armored form from the movie Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution, where it was controlled by Giovanni. With 120 HP, it can use the attack "Psychic Raid" for 130 damage, but cannot attack during the next turn
The card has no Weakness or Resistance and requires three Colorless Energy to retreat. It was included in the Fall 2019 Collector Chest and was distributed in Japan to the first three million attendees of the Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution film, where it came with a promotional Mewtwo disk.
While not legal in Standard format, Armored Mewtwo is permitted in Expanded and is valued for its thematic significance and striking Cosmos Holofoil finish. It remains a popular collectible among fans of the Pokémon anime and movie-exclusive designs
