Ditto (18/62) from the Fossil expansion of the Pokémon Trading Card Game is a legendary piece for collectors and players alike. As a Basic Colorless Pokémon with 50 HP, Ditto may seem unassuming at first glance, but its unique Pokémon Power: Transform makes it one of the most versatile and iconic cards in early Pokémon TCG history. When active, Ditto mirrors the Defending Pokémon in type, HP, Weakness, and other characteristics—making it a strategic wildcard in battle. This ability, combined with its rare status in the Fossil set, has cemented Ditto (18/62) as a must-have for enthusiasts of vintage Pokémon cards.
Released in October 1999 as part of the third expansion to the original TCG series, the Fossil set introduced prehistoric Pokémon and memorable holographic rarities. Ditto stands out not for flashy attacks, but for its chameleon-like adaptability on the battlefield. Though it cannot evolve and loses its copying ability if Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed, a well-timed Ditto can turn the tide of a match by mimicking powerful opponents. Its simple yet brilliant design captures the essence of the Pokémon’s lore—pure mimicry and transformation.
Illustrated by Keiji Kinebuchi, the raw, ungraded version of Ditto (18/62) offers collectors a piece of Pokémon history in its most authentic form. Whether used in nostalgic gameplay, traded among fans, or preserved as a vintage collectible, this card continues to hold significant charm and value. With the Fossil set long out of print, finding a copy of Ditto (18/62) is a rewarding find for any trainer looking to complete their classic collection.
