The LEGO Grand Titan (Set 7701) is a powerful battle machine from the Exo-Force theme, released in January 2006. Comprising 196 pieces, this red and dark gray mech features a light-up brick and fiber-optic cable that "powers up" when the body is pushed down, creating a glowing effect in its arms. The set includes the exclusive minifigure Takeshi, pilot of the Grand Titan, and stands over 7.5 inches (19 cm) tall, making it a centerpiece for Exo-Force displays.
In terms of play features, the Grand Titan is equipped with an electro-magnetic pulse pincer (large claw) on its right arm and a rotating six-barreled laser cannon on the left, both powered by the internal light-up system. It has two shoulder-mounted rockets and a wrench accessory stored on top of the cockpit. The mech's legs are built with sturdy TECHNIC elements and 1x6 slope bricks, allowing for a stable, crouched battle stance. It can be combined with the Stealth Hunter (Set 7700) to form the larger "Mountain Warrior" or rebuilt into the "Titan Tracker" alternative model.
For collectors and enthusiasts, Set 7701 is a nostalgic piece from the short-lived but beloved Exo-Force line, valued for its unique light-up function and role in the theme's storyline. While raw, used sets are generally affordable, sealed, new-in-box copies command a significant premium, with recent market values reaching approximately $110 to $120. The set's popularity ensures consistent demand among fans of mid-2000s LEGO themes and those seeking parts for custom mech builds.
