Mortal Kombat Armageddon is a 2006 fighting game and the seventh main installment in the Mortal Kombat franchise, serving as a sequel to 2004's Mortal Kombat: Deception. The game was released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox in October 2006, with a Wii version following on May 29, 2007, in North America. It marks the final Mortal Kombat game for sixth-generation consoles and the first for seventh-generation consoles with its release on the Wii. The game features virtually every character from the previous games, allowing players to select one of them and battle a selection of the other fighters.

The gameplay retains many elements from previous Mortal Kombat titles, including characters' multiple fighting styles. Players can now create their Fatality from a series of gory attacks, a departure from the pre-scripted Fatalities of previous games. The game also includes the "Kreate a Fighter" mode, allowing players to design a custom character, and the "Konquest" mode, which casts the player as Taven, a warrior on a journey to defeat his evil brother. Additionally, the game introduces the "Motor Kombat" mini-game, a cartoonish driving game influenced by Mario Kart, featuring characters in customized go-karts with special moves.

Mortal Kombat: Armageddon received positive reviews, particularly for its extensive roster of playable characters and the "Konquest" mode. However, some critics pointed out that the game uses the same engine as its predecessors and that the play styles between characters were similar. The custom Fatality feature also received mixed reactions. The game's ending is determined by the player's input, allowing for a personalized storyline for each created fighter.
