It follows in the footsteps of the first portable Mystery Case Files game, putting players in the role of a detective searching for clues and hidden objects using the Nintendo DS's touchscreen interface. This game includes various modes such as X-Ray and Flashlight, as well as multiplayer options for cooperative or competitive play. Additionally, there are over 1,000 items to find across 30 unique and cleverly-cluttered backgrounds, as well as minigames like fingerprint dusting, tile-sliding jigsaw puzzles, and DNA sequencing.
