Starfox Adventures is a 2002 action-adventure game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo GameCube. It is the third game in the Star Fox series, succeeding Star Fox 64. The game marks the first appearance of Krystal and Prince Tricky, who later become members of the Star Fox Team. Players take control of Fox McCloud, who is sent on a mission to visit a planet in the Lylat System and prevent its destruction. The game is set on Dinosaur Planet, a once-peaceful world now torn apart by the evil General Scales and his SharpClaw army.

In Star Fox Adventures, players explore a vast 3D world filled with strange scenery, brain-teasing puzzles, and intense action. The game features a unique staff that Fox can use as both a weapon and a tool for exploration and puzzle-solving. The staff can be upgraded with various powers that assist in combat and exploration, including the ability to fire projectiles and perform special jumps. Players can also switch between two different styles of gameplay: Adventure Mode, which is similar to The Legend of Zelda series, and Arwing Mode, where players control Fox's Arwing to traverse the planet and engage in shoot 'em up sections.

The game received mostly positive reviews, with praise for its detailed graphics, new character designs, and dynamic environments. However, it also faced some criticism for its voice acting and departure from the traditional Star Fox gameplay. Despite this, Star Fox Adventures remains a significant title in the Star Fox series and is considered a milestone in the action-adventure genre. It was the last game developed by Rare for a Nintendo home console before the company was acquired by Microsoft. The game is still available for purchase today, with various retailers offering it at different prices
